Problems :(

Ahh problems problems problems :(

I definitely have searched high and low and cannot find any work I did in the last 2 years, the only work I could find was in previous posts shown :(

I have tried my best but alas, I cannot find any, but here is my work thus far!!

Thank you for taking the time to read all of this crazy randomness, this is Sachi signing off <3

Digital Design Work!

So here is my digital design work for my final project which ties into my future plans !!

Okay, so originally I had bought my favorite car in the world, the Honda S2000 Roadster. I specifically wanted it in white as it was an "open canvas" to me for my own work!
I had a heck of a time finding a white model with solid black interior since there are only about 30 of those brought into Canada a year (this was when they were being produced).
My model is a 2006 model. My digital design project tied in nicely, I had been wanting to design decals (original work) for my car, and was going to make it on a model, and then this project came up to give me the incentive to actually go and DO IT!

So what I did was I started off with making my own version of the "Great Wave" piece and did it in a more contemporary and simplistic design. I then drew it onto my car and colored it on. I then last minute decided to add some cherry blossoms that flowed towards the wave. I bought the s2000 car model (unfortunately its a 2002 model ..can't find anything newer then 2003) and I painted it..this took a few weeks and was just horrible. I can't believe people ENJOY doing that, it's so tedious....I lost my patience quite a few times with it...
80$ model
200$ paints

Then I bought some decal paper, and decal solution and printed my decal designs
18$ decal paper
7$ solution

I finally got everything together, took it outside and photographed it. I then made a wallpaper that's made to almost be a "sales pitch" idea/appearance them thing. It's now done! I will post up the photos and the progress, please check below :)

cousin's phone

Okay let's talk about expensive cell phone
similar to the model I'm buying
but get this, the picture quality, UNBELIEVABLE for a cell phone.
I'll include this picture
okay weird info: when you open the phone normally like a flip phone, buttons are normal, you open it sideways for tv function, buttons change direction so you can read them!? UM WHAT?!
yeah, okay, sachi + blogs = not good.

anyways this is exciting!!

Cell Phone I'm Getting!!

Here are pix of the model I'm getting

god i love it so much
its costing me over 500$ though...bahhhhhh

EMILY CARR!!! and Japanese Cell Phones

Okay, so I WAS TOTALLYYYY JUST ACCEPTED INTO EMILY CARR'S 3RD YEAR VISUAL ARTS DEGREE PROGRAM!!!!

ahhh that felt good. I was totally rejected while still in highschool..
big messy thing happened :(...first time in years that they had changed portfolio day...
i took a course that was made to help build your portfolio to get in, but it was a semestered highschool and we had JUST started the course when OH NO portfolio day was early Feb, my teacher freaked out since our class was dedicated to it...
and...well....
everyone gave up on the Emily Carr idea...
except for one guy who already got accepted on national portfolio day..

so I handed in ...a horrible 50% complete portfolio, failure to get in, SURPRISE.

so I tried again this year (3 years later) from Langara and VOILA! I got in..okay okay so my GPA wasn't 3.0...I actually had to submit a portfolio and they accepted!!!

okay new topic now that I got that one out!

Japanese Phones. Why? They're so much cooler looking, way better technology, and they come in like 30+ colors!!
yes....okay so you have a HD TV...but these new phones HAVE that quality of screen ON THEIR PHONE, forget the iphone, forget whatever cell phone you have. Japanese Phones are by far more superior. What is up with this 5000 ...yes 5000 character text limit?! UNBELIEVABLE. Let's talk about how they can open not just flip phone style, but you can open it so it looks like a mini laptop and watch TV on it (in Japan only of course).
Direct button to go straight to your email...
you can watch movies, listen to music, read manga, play games (like final fantasy and gundam etc) it's awesome :D

I have one and I'm buying another!!
Here's the one I have now...

My art!

Okay..so here's some of my art that was included in my Portfolio for 2009.

[This is a drawing I did in class, it's kind of abstract, I used tissue paper in the drawing with charcoal....the charcoal is ON TOP of the tissue paper, not beneath]

[This is a screen print design I did on a clear t-shirt bag. It took a LONG time to do since it's a ton of different layers, each color is its own layer]

[This is a model drawing I did, this work is supposed to be more interactive. I've added in tinfoil, tissue paper AND tracing paper. The tracing paper is there so the viewer can see each layer underneath it, it's meant to be lifted up and touched]

[This is an abstract piece I did of a scene. My teacher gave me the idea of using lines but instead of just ending them, I should take them to the end of the page...so I did and I got an interesting effect]

[This is an example of a 2-minute gesture drawing I did in charcoal from a model we had...umm I TRIED to not draw extra lines in where the light was..had a heck of a time...but I think I did alright!]

more art to come, but it will be of my older stuff!

Welcome!

Okay, so welcome to this here blog thingie.

I'm Sachi, I should probably start off with some info about me....if you're tired of reading these things, skip on ahead my friend!

Alright, so I'm attending Langara College in their Fine Arts Program and I plan to hopefully go on to Emily Carr to get my BFA in Visual Arts! I have been drawing since the age of 2 and I've always loved art.

I also work full time in the summer and part-time during the year at a farm market in Richmond (Richmond Country Farms..home of the famous Pumpkin Patch!) and it's hectic all of the time...even on snow days!

I enjoy volunteering and helping out as much as I can, I used to volunteer at the Richmond Food Bank and also volunteered a bit with disabled children.

I'm actually a Korean/Japanese mix, adopted from Korea into a full Japanese family, so I'm Korean raised with Japanese mannerisms!
That's all I have to say for now...
I'll add a post of my art :D
